Bus Back Better—Dorset’s response to HMG’s call for bus service improvements
Dorset Council must develop a Bus Service Improvement Plan in response to the UK Government's Bus Back Better strategy. Dorset Council have set up a survey, both online and paper, which closes on 27th August.
Please take a few minutes to respond to the survey - it will help to get the right strategy for Dorset and shows that residents of our parishes are interested and willing to help with important issues for our future.
Dorset Council must develop a Bus Service Improvement Plan in response to the UK Government's Bus Back Better strategy. Dorset Council have set up a survey, both online and paper, which closes on 27th August.
- If the car parking strategy is designed to encourage more use of public transport by increasing the costs of using private transport, then we need to have a useable public transport service in West Dorset.
- If we want to reduce the carbon footprint of transport, then we need a viable and effective public transport service.
- If Dorset Council’s aim is to place development in Bridport and Lyme Regis as our local services hubs, then we need a viable and reasonably priced public transport system to access them.

- You can respond online here: Survey to find out how local bus services can be improved
- or you can download the survey from the link above and send it by email to busbackbetter@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk
- or you can telephone your response to Owen Clark at Dorset Council on 01305 228227
- or you can contact CVPC through our Councillor, Chris Noon at chrisnooncvpc@outlook.com or our clerk, Tamsin at charvalley@dorset-aptc.gov.uk, with your views on local public transport and what would make you use a local bus service instead of driving, and we will present those to Dorset Council.
