Beyond the Map was a project organised by Dorset AONB, led by artist Emma Molony and inspired by Common Ground, the Dorset charity. In autumn 2021, artist Emma Molony worked in the Char Valley on a Heritage Lottery funded project for Dorset AONB to creatively “map” the villages and communities in the valley. As well as working with Charmouth Primary School, she ran drop-in sessions for people of all ages at Morcombelake, Whitchurch Canonicorum and Wootton Fitzpaine village halls.
As part of the project, Emma created an interactive map from some of the many wonderful artworks and comments created about the Char Valley.
