Wessex Water consult on a Drought Plan
Water companies are required to prepare and maintain a Drought Plan on a five-yearly cycle. The drought plan identifies actions that will be taken before, during, and after a drought to maintain a secure supply of water, and outlines how Wessex Water will assess and mitigate against the environmental impacts of their actions.
Following instruction from Defra, Wessex Water have prepared their new Draft Drought Plan and it is currently published for public consultation and your views are welcome. A copy of the plan is available on the Wessex Water website, alongside instructions for how to make representations before 14th July 2021.
